We danced in the rain looking at the grass collection on October 12, 2011. After many weeks of no measurable rain, it was great to need an umbrella. ‘River Mist’ chasmanthium, the new white striped river oats, was of interest, with its showy foliage and seeds, and short stature.
With less rain since mid July, the grasses are not as tall this year, but children have still made a maze of the giant miscanthus.
The red grass in the background to the left of the people is Blue HeavenTM little bluestem with its burgundy red fall color.
