Prairie Dropseed

Prairie dropseed, Sporobolus heterolepis, is an upland grass native to the midwest. Attractive in the fall with yellow and red colors, prairie dropseed grows 2-3 feet in height. A new form ‘Tara’, is shorter, 18-24″ in height. Shown below is a berm covered with prairie dropseed, photo was taken on September 18.
