Spring Cleanup for Grasses

April 17, 2012. Grass Collection at the Arboretum was burned after a weekend of welcome rain. The plants are already showing green, with the early spring, new growth will be fast this year. Feather reedgrass, Calamagrostis was already several inches of green new growth, so those plants were not burned, but cut back by hand to avoid any injury.
