Leaf rusts common in 2012

Calamagrostis (shown below) and Deschampsia both tend to get rust, a leaf disease that causes discoloration, but is not fatal. The foliage turns brown and is covered with small brown spots or lesions; the rusty orange color comes off when brushed or rubbed. Perennial ryegrass with rust can turn your shoes orange when walking in this grass when it has rust. Many people do not even notice when a grass has rust.
