Flat with snow

IMG_1413Silver spikegrass or Spodiopogon sibiricus is a great grass for a screen and makes a dense hedge of 5′ growth in the summer. Unfortunately, it has weak stems that succumb to the weight of snow, as shown in this photo taken on April 3, 2013. I am posting anther photo of this same plant from late summer, just to make my eyes, which long for green, feel better! IMG_8453
