Cool season blue oat grass cleanup

Blue oatgrass, Helictotrichon sempervirens, is a tough, hardy grass. Looks rough in this photo, but it is starting to grow. Remove the dead foliage by raking the plants. Mice and rodents love to spend the winter in this plant and often eat the crown. Put the brown foliage in your compost pile or if you have a permit, burn it.
